The Economics of Intelligent Buildings

The finances involved in Intelligent Building construction are at times lower than those of a traditional building. As lower-cost advancements in technology improve operability and reduce construction and operation expense, the total cost of ownership of a modern building can be significantly reduced. The combination of leveraging a low-voltage infrastructure to more efficiently deliver power and data to building automation system (BAS) devices, deploying today's more sophisticated sensor technology and integrating building system software applications, allows building managers to lower utility costs and employ analytics to decipher large amounts of critical building data, resulting in lower operational costs and longer life expectancy of building systems.
