SUSTAINABLE FORESTRY INITIATIVE

Description: This is a discussion on the Sustainable Forestry Initiative program, SFI. The presentation will detail the history, membership and qualifications surrounding the SFI standards and what it means to have that certification.

Learning Objectives:
1. Learn who is the SFI as well as the history of Sustainable Forestry Initiative.
2. Understand the SFI principals, objectives, performance measures and indicators.
3. Know how to answer the question “What is Forest Certification and why is it important?”
4. Understand how growing our forests in a sustainable manner contributes to Green Building and sequesters carbon reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Any non-member attending will be charged $15 for cost of lunch.

Registration for the event is required, any member who wishes to attend and did not register for the event will be charged $10 for lunch.
