This program provides a current overview of wood window manufacturing practices, how windows and doors could be modified to enhance the overall performance of a building, can be custom built to meet stringent historical requirements and how reclaimed wood can be repurposed for use in the manufacturing while meeting today’s stringent energy code requirements.

Understanding Today’s Sealants
This course will consider today’s sealants and how they play a part in the building assembly. Explain the difference between features and benefits as well as their specific contribution to the buildings strength, energy savings and protection.

Developing and Building Sustainability with Fiber Cement


Retractable Screens: Invisible Thresholds to Sustainable Design

At the end of this program, participants will be able to list three benefits of retractable screens that enhance sustainability. They will also be able to explain the impact of retractable screens on energy conservation, identify key features of the mesh fabrics that contribute to sustainable design and recognize how one achieves sustainable design goals.

Folding Door Systems: Enhancing Interior and Exterior Open Spaces
This course will look at the different materials and types of folding door systems that can be designed to suit any residential or commercial application. This course will also look at how they support green design and sustainable green initiatives and are complaint with the industry approvals and standards.

Understanding the Benefits of Cellular PVC Rails, Pergolas and Gutters
This course will offer basic understanding of the benefits of specifying cellular
PVC (polyvinyl chloride) railing systems, pergolas and gutters for residential construction projects.
